Mondays, April 1–22 over Zoom. This 4-week course will use the text from John Mark Comer, "The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry."

I hear it said over and over: “Is it just me?, time passes so quickly, days are so busy, I don’t have enough time, where did this month/year go?!”

This 4-week course will use the text from John Mark Comer, "The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry."

The book focuses on self-help principles and Christian spirituality. Comer is formerly the pastor of Bridgetown Church in Portland, Oregon, and a co-host of the This Cultural Moment podcast. He teaches and writes on practical issues related to following Jesus in the context of post-Christian Western culture. and His other books include the New York Times bestseller Live No Lies (2021).

In The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, Comer addresses the dangers inherent in the incessant pace of contemporary life and argues that the solution is found in observing and following the manner of Jesus’s lifestyle.

Using this text, we will weekly read 3 or 4 chapters and have a discussion around it. Not to “hurry through it," but to contain our study in a 4-week period, we will meet on 4 consecutive Mondays. The expectation is that you purchase the book, read it in advance, and give thought to some suggested ideas/prompts provided for your own reflection and study.
