About the event

Monday, October 18, 7 pm on Zoom: Book Discussion of "A Place on Earth," by Wendell Berry

This is a novel set in Kentucky where the author lives and farms. He writes beautifully of the earth and it's seasons, and of the rhythm of life in a small farming town. A central character of the story is a place- Port William, Kentucky. Set in 1944 we learn of a time and a way of life which does seem long ago and far away. Still the book raises many issues which are important to us all....grief, family, friendship, loss, the land. First published in 1967 and then a new edition in 1983, there is a 2001 revised edition. Try to find this most current one for your reading.
